Frequently asked questions

Find the diagonal in pixels with √(width² + height²), then divide by the diagonal in inches. A 1920×1080, 15.6-inch screen is about 141 PPI.

Pixels per inch measures pixel density. Higher PPI means sharper images, since pixels are smaller and harder to see individually.

Around 100–150 PPI is typical for laptops and monitors, while phones often exceed 300–400 PPI for crisp text.

They are related but different. PPI describes screen pixel density; DPI refers to printed dots per inch.

Enter the horizontal resolution. Enter the vertical resolution. Enter the screen diagonal. Read off your pixels per inch (ppi) — the calculator updates automatically, with no button to press.
