Frequently asked questions

GST is the amount multiplied by the GST rate divided by 100. For example, 18% GST on ₹1,000 is ₹180, making the total ₹1,180.

India's GST has slabs of 0%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%, depending on the goods or services. Enter the rate that applies to your item.

Divide the GST-inclusive amount by (1 + rate ÷ 100). At 18% GST, a ₹1,180 total contains ₹1,000 before GST and ₹180 of GST.

For sales within a state, GST is split equally into CGST and SGST. For sales between states, a single IGST applies. The total rate is the same either way.

Enter the amount. Choose the gst rate. Enter the calculation type. Read off your gst amount, together with base amount and total amount — the calculator updates automatically, with no button to press.
