Frequently asked questions

Subtract the start time from the end time and take off the break. From 9:00 to 17:30 with a 30-minute break is 8 hours.

Use 24-hour decimals: 9:30 is 9.5, 17:15 is 17.25 and 17:30 is 17.5. Each quarter hour is 0.25.

This version assumes the end time is later the same day. For overnight shifts, add 24 to the end time before entering it.

Multiply the hours worked by your hourly rate. Use the hourly to salary calculator to convert across week, month and year.
